My blog focuses on my journey with education, community, and healthcare. One thing I have wanted to write about is social injustice, as it affects us all, as a community. Violence is never an end a peaceful society should take. “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal” (MLK, Jr.). Our nephew was involved in an altercation with a rogue police officer. If you knew Charlie, and his kind and loving heart, you would find this officers actions unwarranted and superfluous. We support our nephew Charlie 100% and are sending positive energy, prayers, and love his way.

“I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed” (Dalai Lama).

If I could lightly give them a pat on the back as they passed with my right hand I would.
